Pearls are an item that have never and will never go out of style, in my mind at least. On a typical day you might find me wearing a pair of pear earrings or wearing my David Yurman cable bracelet with pearls. But other times I will want to have a bit more fun and wear imitation pearl embellished items. Whether it be on my clothes, in my hair, on my bag (you get the point)… adding imitation pearls into the details of your outfit can take any look from basic to a bit more exciting.
*Handbag – be vacay-ready with this woven handbag, not headed out of town? it would be perfect for a summer date night too! *Headband Set – if you aren’t ready to splurge on any pearl embellished items, this set is a great starting place at under $10 for all three *Headband – a great piece to invest in if you know you like headbands *Black Heels – the dreamiest pair of heels that would be worn for years to come! totally worth the splurge IMO
*Salmon Heels – like the black pair of heeled sandals but not the price? these would be a great alternative
*Sweater Dress – the perfect way to dress up a sweatshirt dress is with pearl details! *Cropped Sweater – i love the scalloped hem of this cropped sweater *Hair Clips – the hair clips i am wearing in the picture above – and that you will be seeing me wear a LOT more of *Slide Sandals – yes please! the perfect way to dress up a basic summer day look
Last year sometime, one of our faucet handles in our main floor powder room broke. When we needed to get a new faucet, the one I wanted didn’t match the other hardware in the bathroom … so we got all new hardware (toilet paper holder, towel bar, towel ring, lighting, mirror). When we got all new hardware, the bathroom needed to get painted (and wallpapered on one wall). When we painted….. you get where this is going. Basically we did a little upgrade to our powder bath all because one handle broke.
This was definitely a project that we wanted to get to eventually but just never got around to it because life happens. Needless to say I was thrilled when I realized that we were going to give this bathroom the love and attention it needed. I just got in our new towels for the bathroom and now it is complete, so I figured I would share some before and afters here (because who doesn’t love a good before/after?).
Almost everything we bought for this bathroom glow up was purchased on Amazon. The exceptions are: the towels (Neiman Marcus), the nest fragrance (Nordstrom), light fixture (Wayfair), and the “art” (I made it at Board and Brush!). Everything is linked at the bottom of this post as well. I am beyond thankful that I have a handy husband! Rob did this entire thing himself – he did SUCH an amazing job. I love our new powder room so much, it makes getting the boys ready in the morning so much nicer!
While I’m no diaper bag expert, I do know that diaper bags are all dependent upon your lifestyle and your family. So many factors go into this; number of kids, method of feeding, etc.. and there’s no ‘right or wrong’ thing to have on hand. I’ve complied a list of items that I have kept in our diaper bag that have helped me stay organized while out and about!
First and foremost, I am so glad I went with Fawn Design, The Original Diaper Bag. I used it with Kylie too and it’s such a great, high quality bag. It’s functional and sophisticated looking and I love that it can be worn multiple ways (backpack, messenger, etc.). It’s very durable (still looks new despite using it for 2.5 years now!) and love that it’s faux leather so can be easily wiped down. I have so many favorite things about this bag; the gold hardware and zippers, easily accessible pockets, and convenient top grab handle make this bag the best on the market (in my opinion).
Above are some of the contents that I keep in the bag. Since Caden is still a newborn, there isn’t much I need (i.e. I don’t need teethers or books to keep him entertained just yet) and it’s all pretty basic. I love these changing pads (see above pic!) that the bag comes with. This is great for when we are out and about and I need a clean, sanitized area to change him. Again, it’s faux leather so it’s easy to clean! Next up, I always keep a change of clothes (or two!) in the bag. I love these onesies by Posh Peanut (similar, here) and these from amazon. They are lightweight, don’t take up much room, and perfect for any occasion. Other contents include; water wipes, diapers, burp cloth, Earth Mama diaper balm, pacis, and nipple cream (this one or this one).
This also doubles as my purse so I have my personal belongings in here too…keys, wallet, sunglasses, lipgloss, etc! Surprisingly enough, the bag still feels really light and I have plenty of room to add a lot more to it as he gets bigger and needs different items!
What do you Mama’s keep in your diaper bag? Comment below! Thanks for reading 🙂
Next week is Rob’s birthday and I always have the toughest time shopping for him. Anyone else have a hard time with their husbands? I figured I wasn’t in this boat alone, so I asked Rob to come up with a wishlist for me to share with you all! Rob is a total “guy” in the sense that he likes cars, camping, fishing, & working out. He enjoys things that are unique and functional. He doesn’t care about brands. The items he chose all serve a purpose, are versatile, and have unique “extras” to go along with them. And let me tell you, had I not asked him to compile this wishlist for TMB… he would not have gotten any of these items! haha! Like I said, he is a total guy… and I am a total girl – I have no idea about any of this stuff on his list. Pass this list on, hopefully it will help you too!
*Sunday Lawn Care – an annual subscription service that provides clean & organic lawn products to help and maintain healthy grass (what male doesn’t want to have the best lawn on the block?!) *Baseball Cap – this cap is a snapback hat that is buoyant and sweat & water repellant *Golf Club – golf is on a lower priority list in the world of Rob’s hobbies, but he still enjoys it! *Shorts – this is Rob’s favorite brand for workout clothes, they can easily be worn outside the gym too- these shorts have a hidden cell phone zipper pocket too *Hammock – talk about versatile, this hammock is a 3 in 1 – its a regular hammock, a hammock with a mosquito net, and a ground tent… what more could you ask for?! haha, but really, I could take some naps in this *Shoes – these shoes are great for outdoor runs, hiking, anything really – they are light, comfortable and waterproof *Tools – flexible ratchet wrench set to reach tight areas, especially when working on your car!
I love shoes and I love spring/summer – put them together and I am happy! haha! Shoes are something that I don’t mind investing in, especially if it’s a pair that I know I am going to be wearing on repeat. But at the same time, they are also something that I don’t mind buying “cheap”. I totally see the value of both splurging on shoes AND saving your money by buying the cheaper (similar) version.
I have rounded up 5 spring friendly shoes and have listed both the splurge shoe and the less expensive but similar option. I hope you find something you like!
With the first quarter of the year over (crazy!!) we wanted to round up the most purchased items of 2021. These are all products we own and love (and #notsponsored) and you guys seemed to love them too!
Hair Towel Wrap– the best for those non-hair wash days, putting on make-up, washing your face, etc. So many uses! (see above pic of Kelly)
How on earth is my baby 2 years old?! Every birthday is such a blessing but is also SO hard for me (and all moms I’m sure). This past weekend, we had the sweetest time as a family celebrating our precious Preston and he felt all the love!
Party Details Preston is obsessed with Super Wings, if you don’t know Super Wings the you must not have a toddler boy haha! Super Wings is a show about airplanes that deliver packages, transform, and help people to solve problems that happen on the show. It is actually cute, semi educational, and is a very wholesome show (without being too babyish). Well we figured that Super Wings would be the perfect theme for his party, and he loved it! We made this balloon wall the day of his party and although it took a bit of time (about an hour) it truly was SO easy! All you need are balloons of different sizes (large, medium, and small), balloon glue dots (we bought 600 and almost used all of them), and a balloon inflator (optional but I wouldn’t do it without one). Once the balloons are inflated just use the glue dots and glue the balloons to the wall and to each other (for additional support). Our walls are white so we had a nice white backdrop to work with! We also, bought these foil Super Wings balloons and this adorable hand painted P to add to the backdrop. Additionally, we decorated his cake with these Super Wings action figures. Once again, we got custom cups from Sequins and Lipstick and Preston could not have been happier with having special cups for his special day!
Update on Preston Preston is wild and crazy, gentle and sweet, all boy, and the goofiest. He is a total third child of brothers. He is as sweet as ever but is also such a little punk. Preston is constantly making us laugh with his dance moves, silly faces/expressions, and playful behavior buuutttt is also always testing us with what he can get aways with (this boy is cute and silly and he KNOWS it) – it is often so hard for me not to laugh when disciplining him. He is strong willed at times. He is determined. He is constantly trying to keep up with his brothers. He is easily entertained and amused. Overall he is just a fun person! And we love him to pieces.
Height & Weight We go to the doctor for his 2 year check up today – I will update this post tonight.
Schedule Preston wakes up anytime between 6:30-7:30 in the morning and can easily entertain himself for 30-45 minutes before we get him if needed. After lunch Preston goes down for a nap, anytime between 1:00-2:30 and is usually asleep for around 2 hours. Then in the evening he goes to bed around 8:00 pm. Just like his brothers, Preston has a Hatch light in his room so that he knows when it is morning/time to wake up. Additionally, the past 2 nights Preston has said that he didn’t want to sleep in his crib anymore, he’s asked to “sleep on ground” in his room. So, we just bought a mattress (that will eventually go on his big bed) to put on his floor. Until then, we will continue to offer the crib but he’s slept great on the floor so far so hopefully the transition to a bed will be smooth!
Activities Being the youngest of 3 ,and the fact that almost all classes/activities for his age are parents & child classes, Preston hasn’t been in any classes or activities up until this point. The only thing he has done is swimming lessons with ISR. Otherwise, Preston just tries to keep up with his older brothers. He started riding a scooter last summer at (around 15 months) and he is already cruising on his balance bike (highly recommend balance bikes for your littles). Next year Preston will be in school with Grayson. They will go two days per week for full days!
Eating Preston is the pickiest of all three, by far. He is a total toddler in the sense that he does not want to try anything new and is very dramatic about trying new things. Before trying anything new, Preston scrunches his face, pulls his arms to his check and squeeks out “no like it”. If I let him, Preston our live off of yogurt, mac n cheese, strawberries, bananas, cheese, and oatmeal. He is not a big dinner guy and often times would rather go without it.
Spring is here! And we hope it stays for good. With spring and warmer weather brings our desire for floral, everywhere. We love all things floral and wanted to round up a few pieces/items that we have our eye on.
