Wellness Wednesday Pregnancy Edition: Earth Mama Products

Wellness Wednesday Pregnancy Edition: Earth Mama Products

For both of my pregnancies I have made it my goal to continue my active, healthy lifestyle. For my first pregnancy, this was “easy” as I didn’t have a toddler to look after. I had the luxury of going to the gym when I wanted, having all the time in the world to make home-made meals, and was able to put myself and goals first. This second time around I’ve had to get a little creative in taking care of myself which is why I have loved Earth Mama Organics. They make clean, safe, and effective products for the entire motherhood journey and make nourishing the body easy. I also love that the ingredients used in all products are safe and trusted- it makes it a no brainer when filling up on motherhood essentials! I’ve rounded up my favorite Earth Mama Organics products-ones that I am currently using, planning on using/have used in the past with Kylie! Earth Mama Organics was so nice and provided a code for TMB readers! If you are interested in any of the products below please use:

Coupon code: MeridianBliss at checkout Discount: 15% off regularly priced purchases (offer does not include travel kits or Lavender Hand Sanitizer) **offer expires 3/31/21

Products I’m using while pregnant:

  • Third Trimester Tea: I drink this tea at least once a day (typically at night) and I love how it supports the unique needs of late pregnancy. Bonus that it’s so yummy, too!
  • Belly Butter: I started using this product during my first pregnancy. The winter months leave my skin so dry and this luxurious lotion helps with hydration and stretch marks. Earth Mama Organics also sells a Belly Oil but personally I prefer a lotion (just my preference!)
  • Heartburn Tea: Another tea favorite! This tea is SO soothing and love that it relieves heartburn, indigestion, and acid reflux without having to take medication. Bonus: this tea helps if you are expecting or not!

Products I’ll be using with Baby C:

  • Baby Wash: Love that this moisturizing hand and body wash can be used with the whole family! We keep one on the bathroom sink and in our tub!
  • Diaper Balm: This diaper cream is both gentle and effective – its a fan favorite over here!
  • Nose & Cheek Balm: This ultra rich balm helps keep dry skin stay soft and moisturized. With all the baby drool that’s to come I have stocked up on this!
  • Baby Lotion: This lotion comforts and soothes sensitive, delicate skin…and so easy since it’s good for the whole body!

Products for me (mama!) postpartum:

Earth Mama Organics believes that postpartum is a time to connect, rest, and heal. I absolutely love their passion and drive in supporting the new mom. These products are focused on baby and mom connecting and getting to know one another by supporting postpartum needs of mom. These products also emphasize the need of rest and sleep and make the healing process for mom a bit more manageable.

  • Organic Herbal Sitz Bath: Easy to use, individual herbal sachets for brewing and using as a stiz bath or a cooled compress to provide direct relief to the perineal area. This is a must have in my book!
  • Organic Perineal Balm: This helps provide lasting cooling comfort and because it’s a balm it allows herbs to stay and help heal. Use this with the Perineal Spray (see below)
  • Organic Perineal Spray: This touch free spray serves up quick, temporary relief. It’s a mist with an upside-down sprayer makes it easy to access hard to reach places…another must have for recovery and healing!
  • Organic Periodic Tea: This postpartum recovery tea can be consumed within the first hour of giving birth! It helps with bleeding, cramping, and hormone shifts after birthing…I’ll be chugging this 🙂

Home Organization Favorites

Home Organization Favorites

Major nesting mode happening over here and I just cannot. stop. organizing. It brings me such joy to open a drawer or closet and have it perfectly organized and clean. Are all spaces in my house like that? HA far from it but today I’m sharing out my favorite home organization pieces, all from The Container Store!

iDESIGN Affixx Adhesive Organizer Bin
iDesign Linus Divided Lazy Susans
The Home Edit Lazy Susan
Marie Kondo Narrow In-Drawer Knife Organizer
  • iDesign Affixx Adhesive Organizer Bins: I use my bin for storing dishwasher pods (it’s hanging from the inside of our kitchen sink!). There are SO many uses for this clear, strong bin though (spices, cosmetics, frequently used items, etc) This is one of my favorite storage hacks!
  • Divided Lazy Susans: Again, SOOO many ways to use this. I have these divided lazy susans in my fridge, pantry, and playroom! We use them to store snacks in the fridge/pantry and art supplies in the playroom. It’s so convenient for tight spaces since it spins and you can easily access whatever is stored inside!
  • The Home Edit by iDesign 9″ Lazy Susan: I just can’t get enough of lazy susans lol! But this one is great for storing oils in the kitchen and bath necessities. It fits perfectly in our corner drawer in our kitchen.
  • Marie Kondo Narrow In-Drawer Knife Organizer: This was a recent purchase (I needed it for my own mentality) to get everything off of my kitchen counters. Love that this piece fits inside a drawer and is a safe way to store knives (and keep them sharp!).
Card Keeper
Acrylic Risers
Battery Organizer
Drawer Organizers
  • Card Keeper: I’m a sucker for cards and when I see a cute or funny one at Target I’ll buy it and save it. This is the perfect way organize all your cards (greeting, birthday, thinking of you, etc). I also love to tabbed dividers and keep special cards that were given to me here. *see below pic
  • Acrylic Risers: Another thing that can be used in so many ways! I have these under our bathroom sink and in Kylie’s closet (as shoe display/storage). Another great purchase for small spaces to maximize the area.
  • Battery Organizer: Anyone with kids knows how important it is to always have extra batteries on hand! I love that this one has organized spaces so you can see the size and easily access them in the moment.
  • Drawer Organizers: We have these in our kitchen and bathrooms. They are great for keeping drawers organized that have a tendency to get cluttered.

Happy organizing!!

My Hospital Bag

My Hospital Bag

I’ve exchanged multiple texts with my girlfriends around what to bring in my hospital bag…it’s crazy how much you forget from the first time around! But with my due date quickly approaching (slow down time!!) I have complied a list of what is going in my hospital bag.

Let’s start with my bag!

Clothing:

  • Pajamas-I’m packing 2 pairs that are nursing friendly… these are my favorites!
  • Robe-one that’s not too bulky (I love my Kate Spade robe, similar one here in black)
  • Outfit for going home (aka baggy pants and loose fitting top, I’m not concerned about looking cute on my 5 minute ride home!)
  • Shower sandals
  • fuzzy socks and ugg slippers

Postpartum Items:

Toiletries:

  • Lip balm
  • Small selection of makeup (tinted moisturizer, maybe some eyeliner)
  • Face moisturizer
  • Prenatal vitamins
  • Hairbrush
  • Body wash
  • Toothpaste/toothbrush
  • Contact solution, case, glasses
  • Shower cap (I won’t be washing my hair there)
  • Hair ties
  • Deodorant

Miscellaneous:

  • Phone charger
  • Blanket & pillow
  • Boppy
  • Snacks
  • Light – to have at night (those bright hospital room lights at 3am are killer!)

For Baby C:

I am packing all of Baby C’s items in the diaper bag….

  • Outfit for going home
  • Hat
  • Blanket for the car
  • Newborn nest – absolutely obsessed with the Newborn Nest! The founder of the company is was a labor & delivery nurse and the pieces (swaddle, fitted sheet, gown, blanket, headband/bow) are made beautifully. Can’t wait to wrap Baby C in this! Also, wonderful customer service…if you’re looking for an adorable way to show off your new baby this is it! *would also make a great baby shower gift!
  • Mittens/hand protectors
  • pacifiers-not crazy about the color/design but whatever does the trick!

Transition Dresses

Transition Dresses

Anyone else dreaming of summer?! Forget summer, I would take anything above freezing at this point! I adore dresses and wish I could wear them year round, but since that is not possible in Chicago – I get even more excited for spring/summer. Living Room Envy

Living Room Envy

Rob, myself (Kelly), and the boys have been living at my parents house, while construction is happening at our house, for the past week now. It is safe to say that the boys are having the BEST time living with Gigi & Bud Bud and that my parents are a lot more tired at the end of the day than they normally are! haha! But, being here has made me come to love their beautiful, cozy, child and adult friendly space even more than I normally do!

scrunchie * similar top * necklace * jeans

I love how my mom was able to decorate this space so beautifully, you would never know that 3-4 days per week her and my dad are watching our little ones. Her style, although similar to mine and Michelle’s, is also extremely different and it is so refreshing to live (temporarily) in a space that is inspiring some creative flow – especially since we are in the middle of a reno right now!

Product Sources:
*Couch – this is the couch they have, except our parents opted out of the chaise/lounger at the end
*Floor lamp – i adore the simplicity and elegance of the swoop in this floor lamp
*Coffee table – the coffee table is not pictured but it is a stunner (and on sale) so we had to include it!
*Throw blanket – this blanket is old but a similar white throw is listed here and I love this chunky knit throw (it comes in so many color options too)
*Wall mirror – this specific mirror is no longer sold but here and here are similar options
*Wall clock – ours is old but here is a similar one. I also love this one and this one.
*Plant – tree is old but I found similar ones here, here, here, and here.
*Chair – this is the same chair, but our parents wanted white fabric instead of the patterned on you see here

3rd Trimester Update & Preparing for Postpartum

3rd Trimester Update & Preparing for Postpartum

I can’t even believe that I am 37 (almost 38 weeks!) pregnant. This pregnancy has really flown by!! It seems like just yesterday I was writing my first and second trimester update, and here we are…almost go time! I am SO excited to meet this baby!

I feel so lucky to say that I am still feeling really great! I’m still able to keep up with Kylie, workout 4-5 days a week (check out our pregnancy workout highlight on IG!), and get a good amount of sleep at night. I mostly do strength training and low impact cardio workouts and always end with a good stretch. I’ve definitely slowed my pace down and my workouts help with not only my stress levels but also energy levels. My goal this pregnancy has been to stay active and get moving and I’ve been able to do so this whole time! I am also totally in the nesting mode, organizing is my jam right now and I’ll find just about anything to re-organize lol!

Below are some things that I have started to get together to help with postpartum!

  • Moms on Call-I used this with Kylie and she adapted SO well to this schedule/journey. Hoping Baby C is the same! I dusted this off last week and keeping it on my bedside (have yet to open it lol!).
  • Pajamas- I have a couple pairs of button down pajamas that are nursing friendly. These, these, and these are my favorites! Trust me, you’re going to want multiple pairs!
  • Nursing bras and tanks- these bras and these tanks
  • One-hand open water bottle….stress on the words one-hand!
  • High waisted postpartum comfy undies. I used these last time and will be purchasing again!
  • Nipple butter – love the Earth Mama brand
  • Belly Bandit- this Belly Wrap was a life saver for postpartum recovery with Kylie. Not only did it provide comfort to my c-section incision but it also helped strengthen my core muscles that weakened during pregnancy. Will definitely be using again!

My goal this next week is to start getting my hospital bag together and momma’s I NEED your help! What items were in your bag? What things can I leave at home? Send any tips my way or comment below!

Grayson Is 4!

Grayson Is 4!

I know every mom says this at every child’s birthday, but I CANNOT believe that our little nugget is 4 years old.

Party Details
For Grayson’s party, he wanted a Power Rangers theme… specifically Tommy – the green power ranger.
*Banner – I DIYed this banner when the wall decal I ordered did not arrive in time
*Balloons – this pack of Power Ranger balloons is from Amazon, we have this helium tank to blow up balloons at home (highly recommend)
*Green Cups – these adorable Power Ranger cups we ordered from Sequins & Lipstick on Etsy, I have friends that have ordered custom cups/napkins/etc from her for parties/events and I always thought it added such an adorable and personal touch, so I figured I would try them and I LOVED them! I will definitely be order more in the future.
*Cookies – these cookies were not only adorable but so delicious! We got them from a local bakery and will absolutely be going back for more custom goodies and our next donut run!

Update on Grayson!
For those of you who know me (and Grayson), know that one word I use to describe him is passionate. He is passionate in all he does, whatever he is doing.. playing, feeling, anything – he does it to the extreme. Grayson is funny, random, and the absolute sweetest. He says what is on his mind and tells you exactly what he is thinking. I pray that this sweet little boy never loses his ability to laugh at the smallest things, his ability to make others laugh, and his ability to make others feel special and loved.

Height & Weight
Grayson has always been a peanut – and he is sticking to that trend. We had his 4 year check up earlier this week and he is just over 38 inches tall (11th percentile) and 31 pounds (10th percentile).

Schedule
Grayson will usually wake up anywhere between 6:30-7:30 in the morning. All three boys will go down for a nap/rest time in the afternoon anytime between 1:00-2:00. During this time, Grayson usually sleeps for at least part. If he doesn’t sleep then he just plays quietly in his room until his Hatch Light turns red (which is when he knows he can leave his room). Rest time is typically about 2 hours. Then he will go down for bed anytime between 8:15-8:45, on a normal day.

Activities
This summer Grayson (and Hunter) played t-ball, and loved it! All three boys have completed the ISR program and refreshers. At this point, he is not in any activities and outside play (here in Chicago) is a rarity. We cannot wait for the weather to get nicer and be able to play outside and sign him up for outdoor sports!
Grayson is such a homebody and thrives in the comfort/safety of his own home. He loves anything and everything that Hunter loves (Legos, Star Wars, etc) but he also loves Power Rangers (hence the party theme), monster trucks, and Blippi. He enjoys puzzles, playing with Preston, and also playing solo a ton too.
G is also in school 2 full days per week and absolutely loves it. He always tells me that his favorite part of the day was “all of it because I love school”. Grayson has always shown an interest in “academics” and is always asking about letters, words, and numbers. His sweet little mind is always wondering, thinking, and investigating.

Eating
Grayson is a pretty typical child when it comes to eating. He could live off of yogurt, mac n cheese, and fruit (berries, apples, bananas, clementines, grapes, all the fruit). He much prefers snacking throughout the day as opposed to meals. For breakfast Grayson will usually ask for oatmeal or pancakes & turkey sausage. Lunch would be a yogurt parfait every single day if Grayson had it his way. Dinner is not his favorite meal by any stretch of the imagination, he always tries what we are eating and sometimes it’s a win and sometimes it’s a flop.

Happy Birthday G-Money! We love you!
