Grandparents are SO special and we adore the relationships we have with our grandparents and also the relationships our kids have with their grandparents! With Grandparents Day quickly approaching (September 12!) we wanted to highlight some things that would make great gifts!
Tell us, do you celebrate Grandparents Day?! We can’t wait to spoil ours with gifts!
With Father’s Day just about 2.5 weeks away we wanted to give you ideas for not only a gift for your husband but also an activity pairing to go with that gift! Dad’s are the best and we want to celebrate and honor them the best way we know how. We don’t know about your husbands, but our husbands enjoy getting out together as a family and enjoying time together doing something fun! So we thought this would be the best gift guide we could put together for them.
Idea Number 1 Gift – Solo Stove Fire Pit Activity Pairing – plan an overnight camping trip as a family. Bring the fire pit along, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the great outdoors
Idea Number 2 Gift – Beer Mugs Activity Pairing – plan for a beer tasting party. This could be a fun activity to do with extended family, friends, or neighbors.
Idea Number 3 Gift – Golf Club Activity Pairing – go golfing as a family, or head to the driving range/top golf, and spend some time hitting balls and having fun!
Idea Number 4 Gift – Cinemood Projector Activity Pairing – Have an outdoor movie night with this projector, complete the night with your husbands favorite snacks to have during the movie.
Idea Number 5 Gift – Stitch Fix subscription Activity Pairing – have him show off his new clothes by taking him to his favorite steakhouse for dinner!
Idea Number 6 Gift – new bike Activity Pairing – go on a family bike ride!
Father’s Day is coming up and we want to help you get the perfect gift for your dad (or your father figure). We find it to be so hard to shop for our dad and honestly his favorite gifts from us have been gag-gifts (ex this dad-isms daily calendar & this snack box). Regardless, we still want to get our dad something other than chips and a daily quote for a year, so we have compiled a list that we think our dad might like – and we hope yours will too!
Polo – Travis Mathew golf polos are a fan favorite over here Mug Warmer – particular about coffee temperature? This smart mug would be perfect for your dad! Sneakers – not only are these shoes fashionable but they are sustainable. From materials to packaging to donating to those in need, Allbirds is a company that prioritizes the earth and others. Toiletry Bag – we can always count on Mark & Graham for personalized goods! Slippers – both of our husbands have and love these slippers. Putter – you can’t go wrong with a new putter! Meat Box – pasture-raised beef, pork, lamb, and chicken. Or if your dad is more of a seafood lover – we have gotten our dad this one and he’s loved it! Speaker – waterproof (and floats), indestructible, & 15 hours of battery life – this portable, bluetooth speaker would be used all. the. time.
PSA – Making your own vanilla extract is SO easy, I will (probably) never buy vanilla again! This is such a fun little project to do with your sister(in-law)/mother(in-law), friends, or by yourself. At the beginning of May we made vanilla with our mom and are planning on gifting the bottles away at Christmas (it takes 6 months for the bottles to be ready). We figured we would share this easy recipe with you all so that you could make bottles, and have them ready by Christmas.
Materials Needed: 1. Bottles – we used these bottles 2. Funnels – to pour the vodka into the bottles 3. Vodka – any type, it does not need to be high quality 4. Vanilla Beans – these are the beans we used, and for 24 bottles we bought 6 packages. Yes they are expensive (vanilla extract is expensive) but you can reuse the beans when you are finished making the first bottle! 5. A fun label (not required) – Ansley from Ellington Paper Co. is making cute custom labels for our bottles!
Instructions 1. Using a sharp knife, cut the vanilla beans down the middle so the inside is exposed (depending on the length of the bean vs jar you may need to cut them in half to shorten the beans) 2. Place 5-6 vanilla beans in each jar. 3. Pour 8 oz of vodka on top. Make sure the beans are fully submerged. Cover and shake a few times. 4. Store vanilla at room temperature out of direct sunlight. 5. Everyday for 1 month you will need to shake the vanilla bottles a bit. After one month of daily shaking, just leave the bottles and they will work themselves into vanilla extract that is ready to use in 5 months.
I’m so grateful for another trip around the sun! Especially in reflecting back on this last year, I am so thankful for my health and family and friends health. With my birthday being today, I made a wishlist of things I’d love…nothing on here is a need but just fun ideas to give to my husband (and watch his facial expressions and ask why on earth do I need xyz haha).
With today. being Kelly’s birthday we figured we would share everything that she would love to open today! All of these items are ones that, obviously, we don’t need but would be such a fun addition to either out wardrobe or bedtime routine. This wish list is full of whites, nudes, and a touch of floral – perfect for spring/summer!
Huggie Earrings – great price point, great for daily wear, great for dressing up… an all around great purchase these would be! Sandals – I love the pink and floral accents on these sandals Bathing Suit – this suit is full coverage (great for momming) but also beautiful. I love the detailing on it the most. Dress – floral, feminine, and fun! This dress would be an adorable one to add to your closet. Sunglasses – these nude colored sunnies would be the perfect addition to any outfit. They also come in black and a brown tortoise Heeled Sandal – perfect for church and brunch or date night! These heels are adorable! Visor – protect your face without (fully getting) hat hair. Since I only wash my hair once a week I definitely have a love/hate relationship with hats. Purse – I love how this purse doesn’t have a ton of metal on it, makes it so easy to pair with anything. I also love how you can wear it crossbody or as a handbag Light Therapy Mask – this mask has three different colored lighting to work on the area of your choice. Red light focuses on anti-aging, blue light focuses on anti-bacterial, and amber light focuses on aiding in cell turnover. This is a must try! Silk Pillowcase – get all the anti-aging benefits from this luxurious silk pillowcase
Happy Monday! We are here today to wish all of our fellow teachers a Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Today (and always) we applaud all teachers and school staff, thank you for all you do!
Being both educators (and moms of kiddos in school) we thought it would be helpful to round up some of our favorite Teacher Appreciation gifts. Teacher Appreciate Week lasts all week (today through Friday, May 7). While no gifts are necessary whatsoever, if you feel the need to spoil your teacher this year, here are some ideas!
Ansley at Ellington Paper Company, has created some adorable (obviously, her work is always adorable) gift tags to pair with a simple gift. These gift tags are an instant download so you could purchase and print yourself at any point this week. Gift Tag Pairings 1. Let Me Spell It Out – the boys used this gift tag today to give their teachers cupcakes that spelled out ‘thank you’, you could do the same or if you know you have a donut loving teacher – get thank you spelled out with donut letters! 2. Take Note – this sweet git tag could easily be paired with a cute notepad, or fun. colored post-it notes. These are items that teachers use ALL the time …. we are always making lists and writing reminders 3. You Are One Sharp Teacher – a teacher will always appreciate a good (and cute) pair of scissors and that would be a perfect pairing for this gift tag 4. You Were The Highlight Of My Year – if you know teachers, then you know their love for colored flare pens. this tag would be perfect to gift your child’s teacher a fun set of any type of pen/marker
Other Simple Easy Gift Ideas *Hand Health – gather some of your favorite hand items to give her some healthy/fresh hands: hand sanitizer, soap, lotion, nail polish, etc *Gift Card – never doubt the value of a gift card! When I receive a $5 gift card to Starbucks, Dunkin, a local ice cream shop, etc – I not only feel loved/appreciated but I also get SO excited to use it and to get my “free” treat! *Color Theme Gift – know your teacher’s favorite color? Come up with a color themed gift! For example, if your teacher’s favorite color is pink you could put together a mini basket of pink nail polish, pink lipstick, bubble gum, a pink pen, etc *Treats – gifting your teacher a sweet treat or snack items if you know what they like, is a simple way to show that you care and were thinking about them personally *Beverages – bring in your teacher’s favorite drink to show your appreciation! Have a close relationship with them? Gift them a bottle of wine (Lord knows they could use it after this year of remote, hybrid, in person, back to remote, etc)
Thank you to all the teachers and school support staff out there!
We love Mother’s Day so much! We love spoiling our Mom with gifts and most of all just spending the day celebrating her, she is the absolute best!
We asked you all what you wanted for Mother’s Day and we got varying responses; some just wanting to relax, others wanting a spa day (you’re our people!), and some wanting some “self care” items!
We rounded up some items that are functional, practical, and ones that we (hope!) your mom will love! If you are a mom yourself and see something you want on this list, send to your husbands as a heads up 🙂
Keepsake Items Memory Box – for all those precious clothes/items you can’t seem to part with Birthstone Bracelet – a special stone for each of your loved ones Initial Necklace – such a sweet way to have your little loves with you at all times For The Home Roses – these roses last all. year. long. stunning + practical! Gallery Mug – such a fun and sweet way to keep photos around without displaying them all over your house Sleep Essentials Robe – a comfortable robe is essential, and we love this one from Lake Pajama Set – they might be a splurge but they are totally worth it, a good set of pajamas is key Silk Pillowcase – sleeping soundly is hard as a mom, make it a bit easier (or at least more beneficial) with this pillowcase Gardener Cutco Tools – we asked a friend who has a serious green thumb and she said these tools are the best of the best Hose End – this hose end is perfect for hard to reach plants (think hanging plants) that need a gentle shower
Next week is Rob’s birthday and I always have the toughest time shopping for him. Anyone else have a hard time with their husbands? I figured I wasn’t in this boat alone, so I asked Rob to come up with a wishlist for me to share with you all! Rob is a total “guy” in the sense that he likes cars, camping, fishing, & working out. He enjoys things that are unique and functional. He doesn’t care about brands. The items he chose all serve a purpose, are versatile, and have unique “extras” to go along with them. And let me tell you, had I not asked him to compile this wishlist for TMB… he would not have gotten any of these items! haha! Like I said, he is a total guy… and I am a total girl – I have no idea about any of this stuff on his list. Pass this list on, hopefully it will help you too!
*Sunday Lawn Care – an annual subscription service that provides clean & organic lawn products to help and maintain healthy grass (what male doesn’t want to have the best lawn on the block?!) *Baseball Cap – this cap is a snapback hat that is buoyant and sweat & water repellant *Golf Club – golf is on a lower priority list in the world of Rob’s hobbies, but he still enjoys it! *Shorts – this is Rob’s favorite brand for workout clothes, they can easily be worn outside the gym too- these shorts have a hidden cell phone zipper pocket too *Hammock – talk about versatile, this hammock is a 3 in 1 – its a regular hammock, a hammock with a mosquito net, and a ground tent… what more could you ask for?! haha, but really, I could take some naps in this *Shoes – these shoes are great for outdoor runs, hiking, anything really – they are light, comfortable and waterproof *Tools – flexible ratchet wrench set to reach tight areas, especially when working on your car!
Easter basket fillers are so much fun! I typically go with a theme when it comes to filling Easter Baskets for the boys – this year its beach themed. So I am filling their baskets with swim shorts, towels, hats, and water bottles! When filling Easter baskets, I always want it to be practical but also something they will be excited to get.
We’ve rounded up different ideas for Easter baskets for all your littles: babys, boys, girls, and gender neutral ideas!
