Top 20

It is so hard to believe that we are now officially over half way through 2022. We wanted to round up your favorite items that we have posted about so far this year! There is something for everyone on this top 20 list. From clothing items for you to a piggy bank for your little ones, this list is all over the board – and I love it! So here it is, the top 20 of the year so far.

one thing that I love about this list is that we have everything (except 2 items) from this list
  1. This blue and white dress is a go to of mine. It’s easy, it’s comfortable, it’s appropriate for pretty much any occasion, and it has been the number one purchase by you all this year!
  2. You all went crazy over this handbag! And for good reason, it could not be prettier (and also super affordable).
  3. This backless pink dress was a hit after I wore it in the Cayman Islands. I love that if you throw on a denim jacket you can easily wear it to work, church, or anywhere!
  4. The best Free People sweater dupe! Trust me. Buy it now, and you’ll be obsessed this fall.
  5. This Packit has been a lifesaver this summer! Anyone else?
  6. Double chin reducer – it really works. Trust me.
  7. Our favorite (and now yours) summer pajamas. If you haven’t snagged your little, or big, ones a set then do it!
  8. I could not be more obsessed with this visor. Major perk – it is packable!
  9. This little bench was such a fun purchase when we got it, and it still is! I love the little table that pops up, it is super practical.
  10. I wore this dress for Easter and I think it is absolutely precious. It is pretty, comfortable, and flattering for all!
  11. This ABC Busy Box was a hit with all three boys! This craftivity is great because kids learn to follow (picture) directions and after a couple they were able to do this completely independently (even Preston, my 3 year old!).
  12. This Spanx top is another top that you need to buy to have ready for the fall! It is perfect for work, errands, or running around with the kids.
  13. The cutest block letter toddler baseball cap. This is one on the list that we do not own, but we may have to get them!
  14. The creativity that happens with the boys while using these foam blocks is truly amazing. They build, create, and imagine all the things with these blocks.
  15. One of my favorite purchases of the year so far are these give, save, spend piggy banks. We firmly believe that all money taken in should be divided into three: 10% give back to God, 10% save, and the rest is to spend on whatever! This little piggy bank has made teaching this system to the boys so much easier.
  16. This floral dress just makes me want to twirl! It is so fun – perfect for a party or a date night.
  17. These shoes are the 2nd item on this list that we do not own, but we love these shoes nonetheless! Maybe I need to get them for Rob?!
  18. I just posted this red dress recently, and I also bought it for the 4th of July! I love it so much and will post it more after this weekend.
  19. The toothpaste cap that saves your counters from a toothpaste mess! Highly recommend.
  20. Another item I just recently posted was this stain remover that we use. If you don’t trust me, then trust the over 18,000 5 star reviews on Amazon.

Coordinating Family Outfits for Summer

Coordinating Family Outfits for Summer

We’ve talked about getting family photos taken before and how I do it pretty regularly with my family, I love (it also makes me sad) seeing how the boys change and grow from year to year. Well if you are due for family photos then you are going to need some outfit inspo for summer time family photos! We’re here to help, and show you a handful of outfits we’ve done in the past.

Michelle and I approach family photos similarly but execute them differently! When choosing the perfect colorscape for photos we both typically start with the kids. We find what they will be wearing first and then coordinate our outfits and our husbands around that. There has been the occasional time when I know exactly what I want to wear and I find the boys outfits to go with it, but that is harder to me.

Michelle is not into matching as much as I am. Although having a boy and a girl lends itself to naturally not match but to coordinate. Even if Michelle had two children of the same gender, you wouldn’t see her matching her children. I, on the other hand, love matching my boys – and not just for family photos as you’ve seen over the past year.

One thing I love now is that many retailers are starting to create a ‘family’ section on their sites – it makes this whole process so much easier. When finding coordinating or matching pieces for the kids, we typically shop at Smocked Auctions, Cecil & Lou, Lily Pulitzer, and Vineyard Vines. All of these retailers have great options if you want to find both coordinating pieces or matching sets.

If I were doing family pictures right now I would wear this dress, the boys would wear these shorts with this white polo, if I had a baby boy I would put him in this bubble, if I had a younger girl she would wear this bubble or an older girl I would put in this dress, and I would have Rob wear these navy shorts and a white polo.

Summer Essentials

Summer Essentials

As I’ve gotten older, my summer essentials have changed dramatically! I used to live in bikinis and dresses all summer but now that I am chasing three boys around, I’ve had to change my summer style. Although I still wear dresses every chance I can, I also wear my denim shorts and tennis skirts way more than I ever thought I would.

Me – top * shorts
Preston – button down * shorts

Today, I’ve found a number of “summer essentials” (at least in my book) for you. These are all items that, if you have kids, you can run around and play with them – while still feeling put together and appropriate. At the same time, if you don’t have kids, these items would all work for you too -they are cute and functional!

tank * denim skirt * eyelet top * tennis tank * hat * sneakers * jelly sandals * tennis skirt * t-shirt dress * denim shorts * sunglasses * denim jacket

What is on your summer essentials list?

Blue & White Dress

Blue & White Dress

When I posted a picture of me in this dress on our instagram account the other week, you all LOVED it! I received a number of questions and requests for the link so I figured I would give it a permanent spot here for you to refer back to if you wanted.

I got this dress from Shein. If you don’t know about the website Shein, don’t look until you have time to scroll, and scroll, and scroll. Because you will end up on the site for a while, your cart will be FULL, and you will be amazed at the prices.

I have worn this dress a handful of times and each time people have loved it, and so do I! The colors, the tie straps, the smocked chest – I could go on an on. It totally gives off the feel of being way pricier than it actually is. It looks very similar to this Zimmermann dress, this Rhode Ollie dress, and this MacGraw Florence dress… but without the pricetag. When ordering from Shein, you do have to make sure to look at the size chart for all items (my size varies their depending on the item) but this dress definitely fits true to size. I am in a small, my normal size.

Where is your favorite place to shop at great prices?!

Summer Pajamas

Summer Pajamas

Summer pajamas can be tricky to find, in my opinion. You want them to be cozy and comfortable, yet lightweight and breathable. They need to be warm enough for the air conditioned house but cool enough for the days where you don’t need air conditioning. My personal favorite type of summer pajamas are a shorts and long sleeve set. I find that my arms get cold in the air conditioning but if it’s lightweight enough then I don’t have to worry about being warm when I’m under the covers sleeping!

*white set – it’s the dainty ruffle hem on the shorts for me
*black set – i have a love this set!
*long sleeve floral – the perfect set to have for slow summer mornings
*green set – this set can take you from late night drinks in the backyard straight to sleeping!
*short sleeve floral – how precious is this Kate Spade set?
*leopard set – i can never pass on leopard… and this set is on major sale right now!
*pink set – adore the lace detail on the shorts
*long sleeve pink – the set I am wearing in the picture – love, love, love – seriously the best pj brand out there!
*blue combo set – i love having options in my sleepwear, so this set is perfect
*white nightie – i love a good nightie, this one is so pretty!

Pool Slides

Pool Slides

With the pools around us being open (yay!) this year, so far this summer – we have been spending as much time as possible there! Since we were not at the pool at all last summer, we have not upped our pool/beach style in quite some time. So this year, I decided to get some new pool slides. I have to admit, the ones I, I had planned on them being just a ‘filler’ shoe until I purchased the Gucci slides. That being said, the more I wear them, the more I like them and who knows if I will end up buying the Gucci ones at all anymore.

*Jelly Slide – these are the ones that I have and am wearing in this picture! And at $15… who can beat that?!
*Givenchy – now I have my eye on these, I love the color of them!
*Gucci – i love both the white and the pink in this slide.
*Jelly – these are similar to mine, except they have more support on the bottom of your foot.
*Steve Madden – these come in multiple colors and remind me of the Gucci ones, at a much more reasonable price
*Stuart Weitzman – i love the simplicity and daintiness of these slides.
*Birkenstocks – Michelle has and loves these slides, she cannot recommend them enough!
